   How are its surface attributes set? ("attributes".. Heh, ex-Imagineer)
   Luminous or highly diffuse would wash it into a crisp form, it seems.

   Perhaps fading the discs edges to transparency would help blend it?

   Perhaps using a slightly curved 'patch' of a larger sphere would
   give a better illusion of 'belonging' to the curve of the planet?

   Will the spaceship glide through as if it were a hologram, or in a
   swirl of disguising gases and such?
